"If'n" starts out with an archetypal pop song. My copy has a "Colored vinyl" sticker on front and a SST catalog sheet inside. If'n Recorded and mixed during September and October of 1987 at Radio Tokyo in Venice, California. AllMusic Review by Greg Prato Whereas fIREHOSE 's debut, 1986's Ragin', Full On , was issued quickly to get the new outfit off the ground (two of the three members were still reeling from the death of their previous band's frontman, the Minutemen 's D. Boon ), their sophomore effort, 1987's If'n , included more cohesive and focused songwriting. mine is on transparent blue vinyl

Ingenius manipulation of two simple chords for the majority of 'Something' draws you in but its the quieter chorus, narrated by George Hurley's standard effortless but powerful drumming that drives you through the tunnel illuminated by Ed's subtle licks. Question for anyone who has a copy of this in their collection: What is on the labels of this record? Data Correct Data Correct Great opener - to an album, or a show.
Shop Vinyl and CDs and complete your fIREHOSE collection. My copy also has a white label with an autograph on one side - I think it's actually a reproduction of an autograph Mike Watt got from John Fogerty - At very least, it appears to read "To Mike, keep on keepin' on - J(illegible) F(illegible)", and the thank yous on the back cover include "John Fogerty (see LP label)", so it'd make sense. It's hard to pick out a favorite Firehose album, each one brings something slightly new and different to the table, but If'n is probably tied with "Ragin' Full On" as my favorite. "Now you object to objects really meaning more than some pathetic lame aesthetic 'rolling stone' is famous for" it's a quite ironic lyric from a album I really only bought to look at. mine is on transparent blue vinyl
I'm wondering if all the other side labels were white, or if this is different than the others. The only break is a shortened version of the verse where the bass leads you right back into the loop that licks at the pleasure center of your brain.
Thanks!
