I think what would've pushed me over the edge would have been longer excerpts since sometimes it felt like just as I was really getting into a speech, it ended! This book is a wonderful resource for anyone (and it should be just about all of us) who cares about women's voices and what women have to say. February 5th 2019 “Here I Am is a wondrous novel, one of the most memorable books in years. This is book to keep referring to for inspiration time and time again . While the author/publisher cannot be applauded for the speeches - which are still the most important part of this book - she made a pretty good selection of speeches and added colour to enhance the power of positive thinking. Case in point: Countess Markievicz, Irish revolutionary and suffragette, the first woman to serve in the British House of Commons, who was serving out a sentence in a London prison for anti-British activities. Anna Russell is a woman who knows what it takes to make you sit up and take stock of the plus side of the menu.
