I can only speak about what I've read which was a story that delivered on its promise. But it isn't truly just one story. Found myself completely drawn into the lives of all the characters. I love first novels - they are often the most raw and honest, and usually have more of the actual author in them.
After loving The Good Samaritan, The One, and The Passengers, I picked up this book to see what else Marrs had to offer and was not disappointed.John Marrs is the king of entertaining books for me. I also found some the dialogue seemed very unnatural and it struck a discordant note. Secondly, the principal fault in my opinion was that in every chapter on every character you would get another chunk of the present day story and then that would halt so a bit more of their back story could be told over the last year or so. All his books are solid three star reads for me, except for Wow, what a ride! Firstly I need to point out that this is nothing like The Wronged Sons and I don't think it should be compared to it either. A book about how altering certain events can be and how escaping from your past never really works- you carry it inside you and it can pop out on the most surprising ways.
