After taking the time to watch the film, On My Skin, I realized The law enforcement in Italy is not so different from the law enforcement many are forced to endure here in America. Nearly ten years ago, in October 2009, a 31-year-old Italian, named Stefano Cucchi, was arrested by the Italian carabinieri, being suspected of drugs possession and trafficking. They even forced some to exalt Fascism.Amnesty International labelled the incidents during 2001’s G8 In 2015, The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) condemned Italy for the events, At an international level, Italy ratified the United Nations Convention against Torture in 1989, but did not introduce the convention into its legal system. Ilaria, Stefano’s sister after the ruling said “ Stefano was killed. Although the pacing of this movie is very slow, one must realize it is based on facts and not flash. On my skin is such a great movie i absolutely loved this movie so much , this is an italian drama. Stefano Cucchi was arrested for a minor crime and mysteriously found dead during his detention. Many were injured and 23-year-old Carlo Giuliani, was shot dead by officer Mario Placanica as he and other protesters attacked the officer’s van.On 21st July, the day after Giuliani’s death, 250 police officers raided the Armando Diaz school with additional support from Carabinieri officers, beat demonstrators who were spending the night there. And the movie? The central character goes through many hardships. He spent his first night in custody in a Carabinieri cell.
