Love Dr. Syn, and was so happy it finally made it back out on Blu-Ray recently through the Disney Movie Club. We kind of saw the writing on the wall when, during production, they announced the new DuckTales. Whomever has the master tape could have it copied to digital and remastered. Settled into a one-hour Sunday night timeslot with the title "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color", the anthology had been running strong for ten years when Disney introduced viewers to Dr. Syn.
Does it live on a 3/4? Disney is investing billions in Disney Plus, its big push into subscription streaming. I will probably watch Empire of Dreams over the holidays. I find it even more impressive that our Canadian Disney+ has almost exactly the same content as the American version, which is quite a rarity in streaming services these days.Wow, Shawn, you watched the Legend of the Three Caballeros?! I get a lot more of the nuance, and the on-location filming in the actual setting in England really puts it over. I hesitated on the DVD for like a week 10 years ago, and it was GONE. For a movie that wasn’t that great, it sure stuck with me.Fun episode, especially for hosts that were enthusiastic for Disney. On November 11, 2008, The Walt Disney Company released a limited pressing of 39,500 issues of The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh in DVD format for the first time as a part of the Walt Disney Treasures collection, and was now titled Dr. Syn: The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh.The issue sold out in three weeks, but as of February 17, 2009 the DVD was made available for members of the Disney movie club … So tempted but that’s a lot for a blind buy.For real question – what kind of shape would the holiday special be in? For whatever reason, Disney didn’t add “Quest of the Red Skull” in the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends programming. It was recommended to me by a lot of people at work and, having only watched a few episodes, it doesn’t disappoint.Lastly, Disney+ will be worth it when they have Condorman!
